ABOUT US

Get to Know 5280 Karate Academy Foundation

5280 Karate Academy Foundation is a nonprofit martial arts organization committed to providing high-quality instruction that fosters personal growth and discipline. With locations in Lakewood and Westminster, Colorado, our mission is to use martial arts as a tool to empower individuals of all ages, helping them grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. We provide a structured, supportive, and non-competitive environment where every student receives personalized guidance from highly experienced instructors.

Founded by Grand Master Lewis, our academy began with a vision to deliver individualized martial arts instruction that promotes integrity, confidence, and resilience. His philosophy centers on teaching life skills through martial arts, which remains a guiding principle throughout all of our programs. Grand Master Lewis and his team of black belt and master-level instructors offer one-on-one training that supports student development from white belt through black belt and beyond.

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to enrich lives through the discipline and philosophy of martial arts. We believe martial arts should be accessible to all, which is why we operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our programs are not only designed to improve physical fitness and technique but also to build essential character traits like perseverance, respect, and accountability.

Our vision is to create a community where students of all backgrounds can grow and thrive. We aim to be a trusted source of mentorship, education, and positive influence for the families we serve. By promoting leadership, focus, and emotional resilience, we prepare our students to face challenges with strength and integrity.

Our History and Milestones

Since its founding, 5280 Karate Academy Foundation has served hundreds of students in the greater Denver area. What started as a small martial arts school has evolved into a community-focused institution with a lasting impact. Our programs have reached families through school partnerships, community events, and scholarship initiatives, and our graduates continue to excel in leadership roles both inside and outside the dojo.

Our key milestones include the establishment of the Basic, Leadership, and Black Belt programs, the launch of the Little Ninja Program for young children, and the expansion of our self-defense and kickboxing offerings for adults. As we look to the future, we remain committed to continuous improvement and outreach through local partnerships and nonprofit initiatives.
